Steve Hensby Band (single launch)

Steve Hensby Band are releasing the first single off their next album at Lyrics’s Underground on Friday March 4th!!! The album is called ‘It’s a Dry Heat Ayyye’ and is a concept album about…………… (drumroll)………………… a post-apocalyptic world where the only place left with life is Perth Western Australia where it has formed its own eco system consisting of mining and partying.

The first single is the title track ‘It’s a Dry Heat Ayyyye’ and joining us on the night……

Steve Hensby Band are splitting at the seams with an assault to the musical senses with elements of funk, soul, ska, world, a sprinkle of psychedelia and a dash of folk. The 8-piece ensemble features a healthy sized horn section and is very danceable!

Steve Hensby is a Berklee College of Music graduate and WAMI nominated musician who also works as a session player in the Perth area. He has played with the likes of Tim Minchin, Steve Poltz, WASO, Perth Symphony Orchestra and Taasha Cootes.
