1960: four scruffy teenagers from Liverpool head to Hamburg, Europe naughtiest city to play rock’n’roll for the inhabitants of the seedy Reeperbahn. Playing with reckless abandonment eight hours a day, eight days a week, they are fuelled by cheap booze, diet pills and a hunger for the music that would make them famous.
