About the event

Violinist Emily Gelineau presents a night of fusion jazz, including original compositions and arrangements. After living in Boston, USA for the last 3 years whilst studying at Berklee College of Music, Emily has returned home to Perth and is thrilled to be playing alongside some of Perth’s greatest musicians and friends and presenting a night of fusion jazz. She has been studying Violin Performance and Film Scoring on a Full-Tuition Scholarship at Berklee, and this performance will also serve as her Senior Recital as she is unable to be back in Boston for her final semester.

Emily is well versed in a number of styles, From Classical to Jazz, Musical Theatre and many world styles, and has worked as a session/recording violinist, String section contractor for large-scale shows, a guest performer with many bands, and most recently as a leader of her own project. As a session and freelance violinist, She has played with and recorded for artists such as Thomas Newman, Harry Gregson-Williams, Shreya Goshal, Robin Pecknold (Fleet Foxes), the 8-Bit Big Band, and at venues such as the Newport Folk Festival (2019), Sydney Opera House, Castro Theatre (San Francisco), Agganis Arena (Boston), LaureLive Festival (2019), Palau de la Musica (Valencia, Spain) and many more.
